What stays on your phone
Which days you finished, your streak and your reminder setting are kept on your phone. Deleting the app clears them.
Location, only if you turn on the reminder: the app asks where you are so it knows when Shabbat and Yom Tov begin and end, and keeps the reminder quiet then. It keeps a rough spot, good to about 7 miles, on your phone. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and the reminder still works if you say no.
What we keep on our server
Only what the rankings and the suggestions box need:
- If you join the rankings: the name you picked, how many full days you finished each month, and your streak. Your phone makes a random code so the server knows which name is yours. We store a scrambled copy of that code, never the code itself.
- If you send a suggestion or report a name: the words you typed and the time. To stop spam we also keep a scrambled form of the internet address it came from. It is not kept in a form we can read back.
Your rankings name is shown to other people who use the app. Pick one you are comfortable with.
What we never collect
- Your real name, email or phone number. The app never asks for them.
- Your contacts or photos. Your location never leaves your phone.
- Advertising or tracking data. There are no ads and no analytics trackers in the app.
Who else sees it
Nobody buys it and nobody is given it. We do not sell or share your information. It sits with the companies that host the app's server and database for us, in the United States, and they handle it only to run the app.
Reminders
The daily reminder is set on your phone by the app itself. Turning it on does not send us anything.
Removing your information
Email memem@nextechstack.com with your rankings name and we will remove your name and your scores. Deleting the app removes everything kept on your phone.
Children
The app does not ask anyone for personal information, and we do not knowingly collect any from children.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
